The rate at
which job seekers are being scammed or used by some so called fake employers is
indeed alarming and that prompted me to write this.
Based on
experience, I got a job interview from JIJI.ng site and it ended up being a
scam. I am not saying all jobs on this site are not genuine (my friend got one)
am just implying that we all have to be careful as so many things are happening
all in the name of job vacancy.
Here, we
bring you 4 possible ways to detect a fake job interview based on my research:
1. No website:
In these present times, how can a real
business organisation or company not have a website?
To me, it is
strange and gives room for suspicion.
The Job
interview that I got which was fake, when i asked the lady in charge; she
bluntly said “Our website is currently under notification”.
You can
imagine the baseless reason she gave, what sums it all up was the fact that it
wasn’t even a genuine job.
So, before
you go for that job interview make sure you browse their website to be well
informed of the goods or services they provide.
Although
some companies or business are genuine but are yet to own a website, but at
least source out information first to be on the right side.
2. No location on Google map:
How is that even possible? You type the location/address for the
interview on the map and the location does not even exist, then that is more
than a big sign to know that you need to run for your dear life before it is
too late.
3. Monetary Demands:
This is even after you have fallen prey to the predators. Ensure that you
don’t pay to get a job where is that even done?
The fake one i experienced we were asked to pay 10,000 each at the spot
either through P.O.S. You can see how desperate they were…
we just have to be very careful and don’t pay to anyone for a job.
If you have to pay to get a job, then I sincerely don’t think it is
genuine.
SHINE YOUR EYES WELL!
4. No records at all:
Research, research and research continuously on where you are heading to
for the interview.
Fake companies have no records at all and most of them use the excuse of
being a NEW COMPANY.
At least, even if you have no idea on the place, venue or goods and
services, make thorough research for your own good.
