Suicide Rife

It had really been a while I heard about suicide stories till the sad incident at 3rd mainland bridge where the young medical doctor jumped inside the dreaded water. Since then similar occurrences has been heard and you get to wonder what is the reason for all this rampant death?

According to online reports on a recent suicide news story, the teen couples died one after the other. The girl committed suicide due to depression and her boyfriend also committed suicide days after her death. He released a tearful video before his death saying that people thought he was the cause of the tragedy and ended the video with "I just wanna be around, love ya".

The death of one person has caused another one's life, most times when you even think of suicide consider your loved ones and how much pains they would go through if you take that drastic step. The gift of life is priceless and that is what no man on earth can give to you so why disregard it all in the name of depression.
Please, don't get me wrong here, I am definitely not implying DEPRESSION is not a serious case, but I don't agree that committing suicide is the remedy for it.

Life can be hard, no one disputes that. But no matter what, suicide is never the answer for that frustration, dejection, sadness, depression or whatever pain you are undergoing.
Stay strong..

Wonders in our generation

Kai... What is this generation turning into?

I think the influence of social media had done more harm than good to most teenagers/youths.

Sometimes I wonder what people like this stand to gain from this. So people danced for joy when this girl was born... Na wa o..smh

I also stumbled upon photos of a girl of about 16 year old and am still in shock, am sure this is not even going to be the first person as they are also numerous teenagers and youth who dress provocatively or nude for attention, likes or comments.

My dear, it doesn't pay, you can enjoy the plenty attraction you get now, but later you alone will sulk and wipe your tears as a result of the ignorant acts you indulged in.

Am not righteous or perfect, we all have our flaws and  lapses but acting promiscuous or wanting to be a "wannabe" would only make people look down on you.

I believe in dressing comfortably as long as your conscience does not prick you when you leave your house, then its fine.

Not when you dress like a harlot or be naked then you expect good people to approach you, it doesn't work like that. It only attracts touts, rapists and all other predators you can think of.

Those pictures you upload or reveal will pop up one day, just pray it won't be the ones that would make you cover your face in shame.

I rest my case😤

Self Made Woman Conference Experience

The Self Made Woman Conference held on April 22, 2017 was entertaining, life-changing, empowering and motivational.

I couldn't help but admire the female speakers, women who have gone through thick and thin to be successful in their various fields in life to the extent that they look like an overnight success. The speakers were the likes of Omoni Oboli, Dr.Ola Brown, Kemi Adetiba, Dolapo Badmos, Tara Durotoye and Foluso Daramosi.

The host was no other person than Peace Hyde so you can imagine the great presence and impact the women who attended the event felt.

The Conference kicked off with an opening prayer and Peace Hyde the welcomed the Convener of the event, Linda Ikeji for her opening remarks. She shared her life changing story with us and i must ask why do most people tend to ignore the struggles and hard work of people, especially women? they always have this ideology that their success is due to their promiscuous activities or one negative thing or the other, this notion has to change because most women are the champions behind their fame and fortune.

Linda's story is indeed a story that encourages us to keep moving no matter the obstacles, trials and difficulties we face in our journey.

Here are few tips i would love to share with you and hope you ponder on them squarely:

1. Fear:
This is one thing i myself am still battling to conquer fully, nothing at all limits you like fear of failing. it is way better to fail and learn than have regrets with no achievements, so if we allow fear overcome us then we would keep sitting on that mountain waiting for that someday to come, for a miracle to appear forgetting that it doesn't work that way at all.

"IF YOU DON'T MOVE, NOTHING MOVES" Take a bold step today as fear only makes one not to possess one's possession.

2. Hard work:
I don't think there is anything one can replace or substitute to being hardworking and persistent.
"Work hard so no man can bluff you"- Kemi Adetiba. No matter what, prayers and hard work can make you successful especially when you put in your best in what you do.
Keep working for a cause, not for applaud, work to express not to impress.

3. Operation face your front:
Mind your business, it doesn't matter what Mr A or Mr B is doing just maintain your lane because if you keep looking at what others are doing, you only distract yourself in the process. Focus on your goals, finish what you started before jumping to something else.

4. Plan:
We have dreams, aspirations but what have you done or prioritize in order to achieve it. You claim you want to be an actress and yet you shy away from auditions, how can you actualize your dreams?
its not even always about about the dreams it is what are you doing to take charge, what are the plans you have outlined and how do you get closer to your goals each day.

5. Your work is a business card into the universe, it will speak for you:
If you do good work, people will know you for it and you don't even need to move about with your business cards as your good work will bring more clients/customers to you.
Passion drives one like crazy, and its only when you love what you are doing that you do it well.

Whoever looks at your face and tell you that as a woman your dreams are too big and you cant be able to achieve them in life, just spit at the person's face i will come to fight for you.
The way most people discourage people from their goals, dreams and aspirations is so bad and it kills one's vibes drastically, we just have to be very careful of our circle and surround ourselves with people with goals and dreams, people who will encourage you to be better and stand out.

There is one thing in making money and there is another thing in reaching out to people who are still trying to find their feet, your impact will be greatly felt if only you reach out to people out there it could be through empowerment, training, fundraising, loans or any way you deem fit.

You may not even be too rich to lend or give to people, just give without having thoughts of repayment, as long as you give, many more better things are to come.

To be continued....

Heartbreaking video on a wedding day

One just has to be careful in dealing with people.

The video of a wedding guest who rubbed the stomach of a bride on her wedding day is so heartbreaking, you can imagine your fellow woman causing such damage to you and yet still smile broadly when they see you.

The bride's face is even unperturbed unaware of the dangers she is prone to, while the face of the woman who touched her stomach is one that depicts anger, frustration and ill negative feelings.

You can imagine after waiting on the lord for the perfect day to come and one bad belle out of the blues want to come and ruin it just like that.

Whoever is capable of this wickedness should understand that the wicked will never ever go unpunished.

People will say be careful of those you invite on that day, what about the gate crashers? or even some members from the groom's family who are against the union? even close friends too?

It  is well known that those who you never expect to hurt you are the ones that end up having evil intentions towards you, this incident could happen to just anybody at all, i just pray such people never get to see us at all on our wedding day.

Owambe, Another Saturday

I left the house today and as usual it's the normal Owambe gatherings you get to see every Saturdays in every area you enter, you also get to see different women wearing colorful asoebi's, big gele and most with very funny makeups you cant help but smile at.

Today marks a new beginning for a new couple and a sad day for the lady who is still counting days and mins to get her own mr right...mmm... funny enough, the kind of pressure that comes with  this is so painful especially coming from your own parents. One starts to feel unwanted and end up comparing oneself with others forgetting everyone has his/her own appointed time.

Its not a new thing as to how African parents place Marriage, of course its sacred but it pays to be patient, avoid the rush, the pressure. Marriage is mostly seen as the only criteria to being a successful, complete woman and this ideology has made people make drastic decisions. It shouldn't be so at all, there is a big difference in being old enough for marriage and being mature for marriage and maturity is what is needed not the age.

I once heard a quote that goes like this "The magic is not in getting married, its in staying married", and sincerely this quote really needs to be pondered on. You are eventually going to be the one enjoying or suffering from the decisions you make at the end, those pushing you will still be the ones to laugh at you when all eventually turns sour due to the pressure to belong.

At the end all will fall in the right place, rushing in and out is of no use, better remain a spinster than a divorcee.

Everyone wants to experience a great wedding with the right one, be patient enough to exchange those vows with one who would continually love and cherish you forever.

Not a Nigerian: Proud Nigerian

I can remember back then i always felt like maybe this is all a dream, maybe am a foreigner born with the whites and not a Nigerian, i would start having that nostalgic feeling of going back to my real country and roll with my real buddies..lol..

As time went on, i grew older i became grateful, wiser, smarter and very proud of being a Nigerian breed, am not saying if was given a chance to choose i won't go for being a white oo.. but i just got to learn to appreciate and love my own roots.

This may sound funny to most people who have given up on this country, but Nigeria is a land of so many opportunities and has the capacity for business ideas. When i mean business ideas, good ones especially when you identify the right market segment/target audience then there is no way your profit margin won't increase tremendously. For instance Hypo brand for washing whites clothes, they made good use of the market demand for a cheaper and effective product and this made them stand out among other competitors.

There are so many others big companies in which their business ideas and executions and landed them in fortune and fame. Most people fail to understand that it takes time for that massive success you expecting to surface, if it comes quickly you would never value it.

Patience, Perseverance, Prayers should be our watchword..

I don't believe in Government making us better, although it would be a lot easier, but since nothing is happening we need to stand oo.

There is massive fortune bestowed in Nigeria notwithstanding the  politicians,  bad government, loots, crime, and so many other economic crisis this country suffers, despite all it still has room for improvement and better things to come in the nearest future.

The fact that we possess inestimable talents and lack people to harness them for us, we still struggle to get by every single day and the race will be greatly rewarded. I Believe!

When it comes to entertainment, am so proud that we are the real deal, at least that serves as a soothing balm for the pains we feel.

Nigeria is one country I believe the world is yet to experience it's true potentials. I believe Nigerians are sharp, brilliant and accommodating people.

Giving the right enabling environment the world will marvel at what Nigeria will become.

We are Nigeria, we can make our place better.

Steps on how to do an Ombre Lip Makeup (Video)

If there is any makeup trend i cant seem to get tired of, its the "Ombre Lips".

Ombre lips are two or more lipstick colors or shades blended so that they fade into one another.

The ombré that i found most “wearable” is dark around the edges, fading to light in the middle and that's obviously what makes it more unique and beautiful.

Here are few steps to take note of as a beginner who is in love with this trend:

1. Firstly, you use a lip liner around the perimeter of your lips.

2. Apply a darker shade of color at the bottom section of your lips.

3.Then apply a lighter shade and smack gently to enable the colors blend properly.

4. Whatever colors you applying, it shouldn't be more than three to avoid you looking very tacky.

An easy "Ombre lips" can be achieved by first lining your lips with a lip pencil, pulling the pencil in slightly more toward the center of your lip and then blending a darker shade over it.

I initially had no idea from the beginning that the ideal name was "Ombre Lip", but i just knew i applied the appropriate colors in the right way and it did suit me.

My favorite of them all is the mixture of a chocolate/brown matte lipstick and nude color.

Most times you just have to break the norm and try the "Ombre Lips" often.

The bad rough day

It can't be all rosy all the time, all perfect and fantastic. Never!!

Thorns, regrets are meant to come by, it just how to deal with them that truly matters.

Some days you just want to disappear from every single thing that bothers you, everything that just exist as a means to get over with the ill feelings that you have. Its common and its never a crime to feel bad or have regrets, its all part of the growth.

Most times, I feel like there is nothing good coming out in this, just quit it already, forgetting the word "Consistency" which is being consistent in all your dealings irrespective of the hurdles you face.

I have a story to tell at the end, you also have a story to tell, we all do anyways.

Let's just strive to make it a better one!!

The issue of Rape Menace

Rape is defined as sexual assault, usually involving intercourse, which is initiated by one or more persons against another person without that person's consent.

Rape is not a strange word as its prevalence in the society today is on an excessive rate.

It's now even predominant as reported cases are mostly centered on the minors, even toddlers are not spared, children who have committed no crime are subjected to the evil grip of these predators.

This issue has had lots of stories ranging from the father to his daughter, relatives, incest and so many others, such act is heart breaking especially when its a kid of 4 years or even months old, i really suggest people who indulge in such act should be burnt alive.

The trending news on the parents who allegedly burnt a 17 year old teenager's manhood for raping their 4 years old daughter is so bad, i would do worse than that because the pain alone is unbearable. My own child ke? lai lai...

This terrible experience takes lot of time for one to recover as it affects the victim psychologically and emotionally.

Although, many have attributed the increase of rape to indecent dressing, but i think such act gives no room for excuse. How can a child barely up to a year old attract you? is it her innocent face? flat chest or small buttocks that you crave for?

Some indulge in it for rituals 'quick money', What a big shame! "Vanity upon Vanity...".

This increasing issue needs to be properly addressed, many victims don't even report when they are raped because they are afraid of being criticized and stigmatized by society, while in some communities it is a taboo for individuals to marry rape victims.

God help Us!!!
